POST Discipline
According to the POST disciplinary proceedings, Officer Jacob W. Hager had sexual intercourse with Officer Hope N. Groesbeck while on duty, in department vehicles in public locations. Both officers estimated that this occurred between 40 and 50 times during their sexual relationship, which lasted from October 2023 through June 2024.
Officer Hager attended the hearing and gave a statement accepting responsibility for his decisions. Chief Paul submitted a letter on his behalf to the POST Council.
Hager self-reported the violation to the American Fork Police Department. He resigned on June 26, 2024, before the investigation concluded. Because he was the one who reported the violation to the department, the Post council voted to suspend his peace officer certification for two years instead of the three and a half in the case of Officer Groesbeck.
